TAMPAN expresses gratitude for public support following Ogogo’s passing

The Theatre Arts and Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN) has extended its sincere appreciation to the public for their support during the recent illness and passing of veteran actor Taiwo Hassan, widely known as Ogogo.

In a statement signed by TAMPAN Global President Bolaji Amusan, also known as Mr Latin, the association conveyed gratitude for the outpouring of prayers, calls, messages, visits, and other forms of support. "Your love and solidarity mean so much to us. Thank you all for standing with us. May God bless you," the statement read, acknowledging the comfort provided during a difficult time.

Ogogo, a respected actor and screenwriter, died on Sunday, August 23, at the age of 66. His death was announced by fellow actor Jide Kosoko. The veteran actor was laid to rest in his hometown of Ilaro, Ogun State, on Monday, following Islamic rites. The burial was attended by numerous colleagues and associates from the Nigerian entertainment industry, including Yinka Quadri, Jide Kosoko, Faithia Williams, Femi Adebayo, Dele Odule, and Mr Latin.

TAMPAN's expression of gratitude highlights the deep connection the association and its members felt with the public during Ogogo's final days and after his demise. The support shown underscored the impact Ogogo had on the industry and the affection he held among fans and peers.
