Tanjungpinang Explores Organic Sugar and VCO Investment for Global Market Access

Tanjungpinang's Mayor, Lis Darmansyah, is actively seeking international investment to boost the local economy. He recently visited a successful organic sugar and virgin coconut oil (VCO) producer in Semarang, observing their natural, health-oriented products.

Darmansyah expressed his desire for the company to invest in Tanjungpinang, highlighting the potential benefits for local businesses. He believes the city's strategic location, close to Malaysia and Singapore, offers a significant advantage for distribution and export.

Who knows if this company wants to invest or build a factory in Tanjungpinang, because our location is also very strategic, close to foreign countries like Malaysia and Singapore.

The company, Manatura, founded in 2010, has already established a global presence, exporting its organic coconut sugar, palm sugar, and VCO to 30 countries. Director Steven Santoso noted strong international demand, driven by growing global awareness of health and sustainable products.

Foreign demand for our sugar is very good, it can be up to six shipments every month.

Santoso welcomed the mayor's initiative, seeing it as an opportunity for information exchange and developing competitive local products for wider markets. The visit underscores Tanjungpinang's efforts to attract foreign investment and enhance its export capabilities.
