Tarcísio Says Brazil’s Supreme Court Should Investigate Moraes Revelations Instead of Defending Itself

São Paulo Governor Tarcísio de Freitas called on Brazil’s Supreme Federal Court to investigate revelations involving Justice Alexandre de Moraes and banker Daniel Vorcaro, rather than closing ranks to defend itself.

Tarcísio spoke from a sound truck at a rally organized by Flávio Bolsonaro, the Liberal Party’s presidential candidate. He framed the event as a protest against what he called absolute power and asked supporters whether they would remain silent or react.

Tarcísio urged voters to choose right-wing senators in this year’s elections, saying the Senate needed to carry out its oversight role and assert itself. Electing senators is a priority for the right, which is seeking to expand its representation in the chamber and make impeachment proceedings against Supreme Court justices possible.
