TASPEN Present Amidst Sorrow, Delivers Aid for NTT Earthquake Victims

PT TASPEN (Persero) has delivered humanitarian aid totaling Rp 155 million to communities affected by the recent earthquake in Nusa Tenggara Timur (NTT), Indonesia. The assistance is intended to support the immediate needs of victims still residing in displacement camps.

The aid package, handed over on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, in Kupang, comprised 400 staple food packages and other essential supplies. This support is designated for approximately 450 individuals impacted by the powerful 7.7 magnitude earthquake that struck the NTT region on Saturday, August 15, 2026.

Fary Djemy Francis, Chief Commissioner of TASPEN, expressed the company's condolences and solidarity with the people of NTT during this difficult time. Initially planned for direct delivery to Ngada Regency, the distribution was rerouted through the Kupang City Government due to aftershocks. However, TASPEN's Ende Branch Office had already commenced direct aid delivery in Ngada.

The aid includes seven generators valued at Rp 70 million to ensure electricity supply, 25 tarpaulins worth Rp 25 million for temporary shelter, and the 400 food packages costing Rp 60 million. Medical supplies were also provided to address health concerns among the displaced population. Despite transportation challenges causing some delays, TASPEN personnel were on-site coordinating efforts to ensure timely assistance.
