Taxi operators push back against planned fare reversal

Fiji taxi operators are resisting plans to reverse current fares, warning that another change would deepen financial pressure on an industry already dealing with rising fuel, maintenance and compliance costs.

Regent Taxis Managing Director Harish Chandra said the proposed reversal would force operators to recalibrate their taxi meters once again. He described the extra adjustment as an unnecessary cost for businesses already facing higher operating expenses.
