Taxi Skids on Wet Freeway in Taiwan, Driver Injured

A taxi driver sustained injuries in a single-vehicle accident on National Freeway No. 3 in Changhua, Taiwan, early Tuesday morning. The incident occurred around 6:30 AM when the taxi reportedly lost control on the rain-slicked road and collided with the inner guardrail. The vehicle's front end was severely damaged, and it came to rest across a lane of traffic.

Firefighters responded to the scene, where they found the 42-year-old driver outside the vehicle. He suffered lacerations to his head and limbs but remained conscious. Emergency personnel provided first aid, including bandaging and stopping the bleeding, before transporting him to Xiu Chuan Hospital for further medical attention.

The accident happened amid continuous heavy rainfall in the central region of Taiwan, which began the previous night and persisted through the morning. Authorities are investigating the exact cause of the crash. Separately, another vehicle reportedly slid and hit the inner lane on the Dongwaihuan Road in Huatan Township due to the slippery conditions, resulting in vehicle damage but no life-threatening injuries.

In light of the adverse weather conditions, the police are urging all drivers to exercise caution and reduce their speed when driving in the rain to ensure their safety on the roads.
