TEDAŞ Initiates Land Expropriation for Sivas Electricity Facilities

The Turkish Electricity Distribution Joint Stock Company (TEDAŞ) has begun expropriation proceedings for land within the Sivas province. These actions are necessary for the establishment and maintenance of electricity distribution facilities. The company is proceeding under the framework of Law No. 6446 on the Electricity Market and Law No. 2942 on Expropriation, as decided by the TEDAŞ Board of Directors on January 17, 2024.

TEDAŞ plans to acquire the necessary land or establish rights-of-way through negotiated settlements. The company will pay the determined compensation in cash before proceeding with the registration of the property under TEDAŞ's name. This process is guided by Article 8 of the Expropriation Law.

Property owners whose land is affected are requested to contact TEDAŞ's 8th Regional Directorate in Sivas within seven days of the final announcement. They can obtain information by calling 0 346 215 00 60 or by visiting the office at Kümbet Mah. 8. Sk. No:22 Merkez / Sivas. If negotiations fail or owners do not participate, TEDAŞ will initiate a lawsuit in the local Civil Court of First Instance to determine and register the property value, as per Article 10 of the Expropriation Law.
