Teenagers caught with homemade weapons preparing for fight in An Giang

Police in An Giang province, Vietnam, have successfully intervened and prevented a group of teenagers from engaging in a violent confrontation. The Provincial Criminal Police Department, in coordination with Long Xuyên City Police, acted on a tip-off regarding youths armed with weapons and preparing for a fight.

The report came in on the afternoon of July 8, detailing a group of teenagers riding motorcycles and carrying numerous weapons, showing clear signs of preparing for an assault in an urban area of Long Xuyên. Responding swiftly, the police established checkpoints on roads leading into and out of the designated area.

Around 3:15 p.m. that day, officers identified five suspicious teenagers on motorcycles and stopped them for inspection. During questioning, the group confessed to carrying various weapons and hiding them at a house in the Tây Khánh 8 area of Long Xuyên, intending to use them for a planned fight.

A subsequent search of the location uncovered a cache of 13 dangerous items. These included homemade firearms, crossbows, bayonets, hammers, and other crude but lethal weapons. The Provincial Criminal Police Department is continuing its investigation in collaboration with local police to determine the full circumstances and take appropriate legal action against those involved.
