Cizre, a district in Turkey's Şırnak province, is grappling with extreme heat that has driven residents indoors and left streets deserted. Temperatures soared to a blistering 49 degrees Celsius, forcing people to wait until evening to venture outside.

The intense heat has rendered air conditioning units ineffective, with businesses struggling to provide a cool environment for staff and customers. One döner shop owner described the situation as unbearable, stating that even the heat from his cooking was preferable to the ambient temperature inside his establishment.

"We're used to the heat, it's 49 degrees outside and 80 degrees inside, but the heat from the döner is better than the outside heat," said Sipan Kümür, a döner maker. "We're used to the döner's heat, but we can't get used to Cizre's heat. God help those working in this heat."
