Ten More Placed on Fourth Schedule in Azad Kashmir Over Alleged JAAC Ties

The Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) government has added 10 more residents to the Fourth Schedule of the Anti-Terrorism Act, 2014. This action targets individuals allegedly affiliated with the Jammu and Kashmir Joint Awami Action Committee (JK-JAAC), a group previously designated as proscribed.

Placement on the Fourth Schedule imposes significant restrictions on the listed individuals. It subjects them to close monitoring by law-enforcement agencies and can lead to legal limitations on their movement, political and organizational activities, international travel, and financial transactions.

The decision was formalized following a resolution passed at an AJK cabinet meeting on June 5 and subsequently approved by the AJK President. The notification from the AJK Home Department lists the names of the 10 individuals, specifying their origins within the region, though details for four remain unprovided.

While the notification confirms the alleged affiliation with the banned JAAC, it does not detail specific allegations or activities attributed to each of the 10 persons.
