Tennis: Chan Hao-ching Advances to Prague Doubles Semifinals, Aims for Second Straight Title

Taiwanese tennis player Chan Hao-ching and her Japanese partner Kato Miyu have reached the semifinals of the WTA 250 Prague women's doubles tournament. The pair secured their spot by defeating Poland's Falkowska and America's Smith in a comeback victory, with a final score of 1-6, 7-5, 10-7.

This success follows their championship win at the WTA Athens tournament last week, marking Chan's first tour title in 27 months. Continuing their momentum in the Czech Republic, the Taiwanese-Japanese duo faced a challenging start in their quarterfinal match, losing the first set. However, they rallied in the second set, breaking back and ultimately forcing a tiebreaker.

In the decisive tiebreak, the third-seeded Chan and Kato established an early lead, though their opponents managed to close the gap. The pair held their nerve to secure the final two points, clinching the match in 1 hour and 32 minutes. They are now set to compete against the Czech local duo of Havlickova and Samson in the semifinals, with the goal of winning consecutive titles.
