The Gallagher brothers keep fans guessing before surprise appearance at documentary premiere

For hours, it looked as though Liam and Noel Gallagher would leave Oasis fans disappointed in Venice. Then, just as photographers began sending away their images, the brothers emerged unexpectedly from inside the Palazzo del Cinema and sent the red carpet into a frenzy.

The pair had arrived at the Venice Film Festival by water taxi that morning, smiling for cameras and sharing the moment on social media. But they skipped the news conference for “Oasis: Don’t Look Back in Anger,” appearing alongside directors Dylan Southern and Will Lovelace and screenwriter Steven Knight only at the morning arrival. Their names were also absent from the conference schedule, quickly ending hopes that they might address rumors of another tour.

The red carpet became the night’s main event. After keeping fans waiting, Liam appeared first, wearing a black suit, glasses and light-colored shoes. Noel followed in a black jacket and trousers with a white shirt. They posed unhurriedly for photographers, approached the crowd to sign autographs and raised their fists while holding hands, creating images that delighted the waiting fans.

The documentary goes back to August 2009, when Oasis canceled a Paris performance and the rest of its European tour. It then follows the brothers’ announced reconciliation in 2024 and their joint return to the stage. They did not perform together again until the Oasis Live ’25 Tour began in Cardiff, United Kingdom, on July 4, 2025. The film includes rehearsal and tour footage, fans’ reactions and the brothers’ first joint interview in more than 20 years. Actress Faye Dunaway and the cast of a new audio adaptation of Bram Stoker’s “Dracula” also attended the screening’s red carpet.
