The upcoming Malaysian film "The Real Mamu" is set to break new ground by being the first local production to spotlight the distinct culture of the Indian Muslim community, referred to as 'Mamu,' particularly in Penang. Director Zulkifli Abu Hassan expressed his intention to introduce this specific cultural group to a wider audience through the film.

This film is not like anything that has existed before. Although the main character is played by Saiful Apek, the story is not just entertaining, but also capable of touching the audience's emotions. At the same time, we also promise action elements.

While Saiful Apek leads the cast, Zulkifli clarified that the narrative extends beyond mere entertainment. He aims to weave in elements of comedy, romance, and action to create an emotionally resonant story about a father's sacrifice. "I see people willing to watch Bollywood films that are up to three hours long because they have various interesting elements. So, in The Real Mamu, I made sure the story offers a combination of these elements so that the audience gets a different experience," he explained.

The film's plot centers on a character known as Mamu, who will go to great lengths to protect his son, Shah. The cast also includes Wan Raja, Kodi Rasheed, Wafariena, Didie Alias, Adrea Abdullah, Risteena, Adam Corrie, and Yasin Senario. Produced by Z & K Creative Sdn. Bhd., "The Real Mamu" is slated for release soon after completing its principal photography in Penang.
