Thessaloniki: Eastern Inner Ring Road to close overnight for Flyover construction

The Eastern Inner Ring Road in Thessaloniki will experience overnight closures this weekend to facilitate ongoing construction of the Flyover project. The road will be shut in both directions between 11 PM on Saturday and 5 AM on Sunday near the K11 interchange, which serves Pylaia and Panorama.

Traffic in the westbound lanes will be fully stopped at the first exit towards Prasaka Street (K11 Interchange). Vehicles will be rerouted via Prasaka Street, John Kennedy Street, and Elaion Street to rejoin the ring road. For eastbound traffic, the closure will occur at the exit for Foka Street (K11 Interchange), with vehicles directed via Foka Street and then having the option to proceed towards the city center.

Additionally, a restriction will be placed on trucks weighing over 3.5 tons. These vehicles will be prohibited from traveling on the Inner Ring Road between the K-16 (Lahanagora) and K-13 (Agios Pavlos Hospital) interchanges from 10 PM Saturday to 5 AM Sunday. Traffic police urge drivers to avoid unnecessary travel in these areas and to pay close attention to signage.
