Thompson to hold charity concert in Vukovar for student dormitory and stadium funding

Marko Perković Thompson, a prominent Croatian singer, announced a major charity concert, "Vukovar – Together for the Future," to be held on August 29 in Vukovar. The event aims to be more than just a musical performance; it seeks to unite people for charitable causes.

Vukovar has a special place in the heart of the Croatian people. I am glad that we will gather again in the city of heroes, but this time also with the aim of doing something good together.

All profits from the concert, after covering expenses, will be directed towards two significant projects: completing the construction of the Salesians' student dormitory in Zagreb and supporting the "You Are Vukovar Too" campaign for the construction of the 12 Croatian Guardsmen Stadium. Thompson expressed his enthusiasm for returning to Vukovar, a city with deep national significance, to contribute to these projects.

The mayor of Vukovar, Marijan Pavliček, welcomed the event, highlighting the honor of hosting a gathering that brings together thousands for a noble purpose and emphasizing the power of unity and solidarity. Don Milan Ivančević, the provincial of the Croatian Salesian Province, thanked supporters, noting the future dormitory will provide a safe home for many students. Organizers expressed confidence that the evening would leave a lasting impact through tangible aid.

Ticket sales are set to begin on Friday, August 7, at noon via the Sportify Events platform. For residents of Vukovar, tickets will also be available for purchase in person at the Birth House of Lavoslav Ružička. The event is scheduled for August 29.
