Three Dead in Russian Attack on Ukraine's Kharkiv Region

A Russian overnight attack on the city of Balakliya in Ukraine's Kharkiv region resulted in the deaths of at least three people, according to the State Emergency Service. The assault, which occurred during the night, targeted a residential area, igniting fires in two private homes and damaging other properties.

This latest strike follows a previous attack on Balakliya the previous day, which left parts of the city without electricity. The ongoing assaults highlight the continued Russian military activity in the region.

In a separate incident, an attack on the city of Sumy using guided bombs injured at least 13 people. The local military administration reported that the aggressor's army launched eight guided aerial bombs over the northern and central areas of Sumy within an eight-minute span. Ukrainian air defenses successfully intercepted one of the bombs.

The attack on Sumy caused significant damage, affecting a shopping center, five stores, the windows of ten apartment buildings, three private homes, and five vehicles. The repeated strikes underscore the persistent threat faced by Ukrainian cities and civilians.
