Three 'Garuda Perintis Merah Putih' Bridges Inaugurated in Bima City to Strengthen Connectivity

Three "Garuda Perintis Merah Putih" bridges were officially inaugurated across Bima City, West Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia, on Monday. This infrastructure development is designed to significantly strengthen community connectivity and accessibility, thereby supporting crucial local activities in education, agriculture, and the economy.

The inauguration ceremony was centered in Paruga Village, with two additional bridges in Rontu and Manggemaci villages being dedicated virtually via video conference. Bima Mayor H. A. Rahman H. Abidin highlighted the substantial benefits these bridges bring to the community, particularly noting the regional government's limitations in fulfilling all infrastructure needs. He expressed deep gratitude to the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) and all collaborating parties for their instrumental role in the project.

Commander of Kodim 1608/Bima, Letkol Arh Samuel Asdianto Limbongan, stated that the construction of these pioneer bridges aligns with the President's priority programs and the Army Chief of Staff's flagship initiatives. The bridges are intended to bolster citizen mobility, especially in areas requiring better access. The Rontu bridge connects farmland to residential areas, easing the transport of agricultural produce, while the Manggemaci bridge links two neighborhoods previously lacking direct passage. The Paruga bridge serves as a vital access point for students from Paruga and Dara villages heading to school.

Mayor Abidin urged the residents to diligently maintain the new bridges to ensure their long-term usability. He advised against exceeding the bridges' capacity and requested prompt reporting of any damage to local authorities. The successful completion of these three bridges is expected to foster stronger community access, smoother mobility, and enhanced support for educational, agricultural, and economic endeavors in Bima City.
