Three injured in Ukrainian drone attack on Wildberries warehouse near St. Petersburg

Russian authorities reported that three people sustained injuries following a Ukrainian drone attack on a Wildberries online retailer warehouse in the Leningrad region, near St. Petersburg. The attack, which occurred on July 24, 2026, also resulted in a fire at the facility, according to regional governor Alexander Drosdenko. Russian air defense systems claimed to have intercepted 59 drones during the overnight assault.

An AFP reporter observed smoke rising over St. Petersburg on Friday morning. Pulkovo Airport, located in the city, temporarily halted operations and resumed them around 6:00 AM local time, affecting approximately 50 departures. Russia stated that it shot down a total of 571 drones overnight. The city of St. Petersburg is situated more than 800 kilometers from the Ukrainian border.

This incident marks the third Ukrainian strike on a Wildberries location in recent days. The Ukrainian military has reportedly intensified its targeting of Russian logistics and infrastructure facilities as part of its strategy to disrupt supply lines for Russian forces engaged in the offensive in Ukraine.
