Three more drugs added to SGK reimbursement list

Turkey's Minister of Labor and Social Security, Vedat Işıkhan, announced that three new medications have been added to the Social Security Institution's (SGK) reimbursement list. The additions include two drugs for Hemophilia B and one for cancer treatment, with one of the new medications being domestically produced.

This move aims to improve citizens' access to healthcare services. Işıkhan shared the news via his social media account, referencing a regulation published in the Official Gazette. He highlighted that the reimbursement amount for magistral drugs, which are prepared in pharmacies, has been increased by 40%.

Furthermore, the scope of procedures covered in pediatric surgery has been broadened. Significant improvements have also been implemented in bone marrow transplant processes. This includes updated screening procedures to find suitable donors for patients awaiting transplants and revised regulations for treatment and medication applications.

Minister Işıkhan expressed his wishes for a speedy recovery for patients and stated that the changes are expected to be beneficial. The announcement reflects the government's ongoing efforts to enhance the healthcare system and ensure broader coverage for essential treatments.
