Three vehicles torched in Colima and Cuauhtémoc; one firebomb suspected

Three vehicles were intentionally set ablaze in separate incidents across the municipalities of Cuauhtémoc and Colima early Saturday morning, with authorities investigating the arsons.

In the Altozano neighborhood of Cuauhtémoc, two cars sustained fire damage. Firefighters responded to prevent the flames from spreading to nearby vehicles and homes, but the specific cause of this fire remains unconfirmed.

Separately, in the La Oriental neighborhood of Colima city, unidentified individuals hurled a Molotov cocktail at a parked vehicle. Residents alerted authorities to the incident, and it is currently unclear if this act is connected to the fires in Cuauhtémoc.

In a related incident on Thursday, police in Manzanillo arrested two young men, aged 18 and 19, for allegedly setting fire to a mototaxi. Surveillance cameras reportedly captured the suspects on a motorcycle pouring flammable liquid onto the vehicle before igniting it. The suspects were apprehended shortly after and handed over to the Public Ministry.
