Three young people face serious drug charges in Lithuania

A drug trafficking case involving three young individuals has reached the Klaipėda District Court in Lithuania, following an investigation that began in the summer of 2025. Police have charged a 23-year-old man with illegal possession and distribution of a very large quantity of narcotics. A 21-year-old man faces charges of distributing narcotics, while a 22-year-old woman is accused of illegal possession of a narcotic substance without the intent to distribute it.

The investigation was triggered by information suggesting the 23-year-old, who was previously untainted by crime and engaged in individual business activities, was involved in drug distribution. In July 2025, officers apprehended the 22-year-old woman in Klaipėda, finding approximately 2 grams of cannabis in her possession. Later, in October 2025, law enforcement officers in Klaipėda arrested the 23-year-old man, who is suspected of supplying cannabis to the 22-year-old woman.

A search of the 23-year-old man's residence and garage uncovered narcotics (psychotropic substances), grinders, electronic scales, and a vacuum packing machine. Continuing their investigation, officers in Klaipėda arrested the 21-year-old man at his residence, where they found over 100 grams of cannabis. Precautionary measures were imposed on the suspects.

The 21-year-old and 23-year-old suspects were detained and later released under written pledges not to leave, with document confiscation and requirements to periodically register with the police. The 22-year-old suspect was also placed under a written pledge not to leave. Penalties range from public works or fines to imprisonment, depending on the severity and intent of the drug offenses.
