Thun midfielder Mattias Käit to miss Dinamo Zagreb clash due to injury; replacement signed

Swiss club Thun will be significantly weakened for their Champions League qualifier against Dinamo Zagreb as key midfielder Mattias Käit is ruled out due to a foot injury. The 28-year-old Estonian international was already absent for the first leg against Dinamo and will now miss the crucial return match at Maksimir Stadium, as well as several subsequent fixtures.

Thun confirmed through a statement that Käit's injury is more severe than initially hoped. Further examinations revealed the extent of the damage, indicating a recovery period of several weeks. This absence represents a major blow for the Swiss side as they aim to overcome Dinamo Zagreb in the second leg of the second qualifying round.

In response to Käit's prolonged absence, Thun has moved quickly to secure a replacement. The club announced the signing of Fabio Saiz, a 25-year-old defensive midfielder. Saiz joins Thun from Yverdon Sport, bringing additional depth to the squad as they prepare for the demanding European competition.
