Tien Hao Transfers to Taiwan Beer After Six Years with Lioneers, Feeling Mixed Emotions

Tien Hao, a key player who spent six seasons with the Hsinchu Lioneers, is embarking on a new chapter in his career with the SBL's Taiwan Beer Leopards. The 27-year-old point guard, a founding member of the Lioneers since their inception in 2020, seeks greater opportunities and a fresh platform to showcase his skills.

Hao made his first appearance for Taiwan Beer at the Chang Yao Cup Future League Charity Invitational Tournament. In his debut, he logged over 24 minutes, tallying 6 points, 6 assists, and 5 rebounds. Despite his contributions, Hao fouled out late in the game, concluding his initial outing with the new team.

Reflecting on his move, Hao admitted to mixed feelings. He had contemplated a transfer during the previous season, feeling a need for a more expansive stage to hone his abilities. "I feel I need a stage to train," Hao stated, expressing gratitude to Taiwan Beer for the opportunity. He also conveyed his hope to eventually return to the professional league.

Taiwan Beer's new head coach, Wang Chien-wei, acknowledged Hao's performance, particularly praising a fast-break pass as indicative of his "point guard spirit." Hao, in turn, remained humble, thanking the coach for the trust and space given, and emphasizing his commitment to continuous improvement.
