Tinubu inherited economy in shambles, has achievements for 2027 polls, Akpabio

Senate President Godswill Akpabio asserted that President Bola Tinubu's administration has delivered substantial achievements, positioning it for re-election in 2027. Speaking during a courtesy visit from the Senate Committee on Tertiary Institutions, Akpabio highlighted the economic challenges Tinubu inherited upon taking office in 2023.

The current President has done a lot for Nigerians. He met an economy in shambles. When he came in, 27 states could not pay salaries and pensions, but today, the story has changed because of his reengineering and thinking out of the box.

"The current President has done a lot for Nigerians. He met an economy in shambles," Akpabio stated, according to a release from his Special Assistant on Media, Jackson Udom. He elaborated that when Tinubu assumed office, 27 states struggled to pay workers' salaries and pensions, a situation he claims has been rectified through the President's innovative strategies. Akpabio expressed confidence that Nigerians would recognize these accomplishments and re-elect Tinubu for a second term.

In 2027, Nigerians will separate the chaff from the grains and re-elect President Tinubu for a second term in office.

Akpabio also lauded the 10th National Assembly, which he leads, for passing legislation aimed at improving citizens' lives. He emphasized the Senate's commitment to collaborating with the Executive branch to achieve national goals. Dismissing social media commentary as unreliable, he urged lawmakers, particularly those not returning to the Senate, to maintain their loyalty to the All Progressives Congress and the Tinubu administration, assuring them their dedication would be acknowledged.
