Tinubu vows justice for abducted Oyo children, teachers; commends rescue operation

President Bola Tinubu has pledged that his administration will deliver justice for the pupils and teachers recently rescued from an abduction in Oyo State. The president also vowed justice for Mr. Oyedokun, who was killed by the attackers during the incident.

I am profoundly happy that our security forces successfully rescued the abducted pupils and teachers from Oriire, Ogbomoso in Oyo State today after a military, police and intelligence-driven operation that neutralised some of the terrorists that perpetrated the evil act and the arrest of eight of them.

Tinubu's remarks followed the successful rescue of the children and their teachers, who had been held captive for over 50 days. He lauded the military, the Department of State Services (DSS), and the police for their diligent, round-the-clock operation. The president highlighted that the operation neutralized some of the perpetrators and led to the arrest of eight others.

This successful military operation has ended the siege and standoff of over 50 days and has brought relief to the entire nation and the affected families in particular.

He expressed sympathy for the victims and their families, acknowledging the anguish caused by the ordeal. The president also commended the Oyo State Government for its cooperation and advised the state to enhance security measures around schools. He further directed emergency agencies to provide medical attention and support to the rescued individuals.
