Tinubu welcomes former Sokoto gov candidate back to APC, urges unity

President Bola Tinubu has welcomed Sa’idu Umar Ubandoma, a former governorship candidate in Sokoto State, back to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). Tinubu described Ubandoma's return as a positive development for the party during a meeting at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

Ubandoma was presented to the president by Senator Aliyu Wamakko, the APC leader in Sokoto. Tinubu expressed his delight and pledged full support and integration for Ubandoma within the party. "I am delighted to welcome you back to the APC. You have my support, and you will be fully integrated into the party," Tinubu stated.

The president also emphasized the importance of unity and collaboration within the Sokoto APC. He urged Ubandoma to maintain a close working relationship with Senator Wamakko and Sokoto State Governor Aliyu Sokoto. "Sustain your close working relationship with Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko and Governor Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto as we continue to strengthen the APC and consolidate the progress already recorded," Tinubu advised.

The meeting was described as cordial and productive, focusing on bolstering the APC's standing in Sokoto State. Ubandoma had previously been the Peoples Democratic Party's governorship candidate before a short stint with the African Democratic Congress, from which he has now returned to the APC.
