City Boy Movement to ensure maximum victory for Tinubu in 2027 - Akpabio

Senate President Godswill Akpabio has declared that the "City Boy Movement" is poised to secure a "maximum victory" for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's re-election in 2027. Addressing a delegation from the group during a courtesy visit, Akpabio lauded their dedication and patriotism, highlighting their primary mission to ensure Tinubu secures a second term.

The City Boy Movement is like a wind blowing across the nation. You may not see it but you can feel it.

Akpabio likened the movement's impact to a "wind blowing across the nation," stating that its influence is palpable even if not always visible. He emphasized that the group's efforts, particularly in mobilizing and sensitizing voters, could have prevented votes from being uncounted in the last election had they been active then. "You have come up at the right time," he told the members, urging them to remain focused on ensuring Tinubu's win.

Never again shall we have a situation in any polling unit in Nigeria where Mr President will not have an agent because we have the City Boy Movement.

"Ignore all those things and remain focused," Akpabio advised, anticipating potential claims of rigging after the victory. He framed the campaign as an opportunity for the youth to "shape your future" and learn valuable mobilization skills for their own future endeavors. The Senate, he added, is pleased with Nigerian youths who choose the "right path," distinguishing them from those misguided by cultism and drug abuse.

Know that while you are doing all these and you are going round the country mobilising, sensitising the populace, the voters, educating them, other political parties are sleeping. They are not doing the same.

Drawing from a philosopher, Akpabio cautioned against ending life as a failure, especially for those with potential. He stressed the privilege of working for the country's future and charting the course for the next administration, steering clear of cultism and terrorism. While advocating for "build the youths," he also urged the youth to "maintain the elders" for their wisdom, suggesting a balance between youthful energy and experienced guidance.
