Tipper Driver Arrested with 199 kg of Marijuana in Udayapur

Authorities in Udayapur, Nepal, have apprehended a tipper truck driver transporting a significant quantity of marijuana. The arrest occurred in the Maruwa Khola area of Katari Municipality-4, following a police operation that intercepted the vehicle.

During a routine check conducted by a team from the District Police Office, Udayapur, at approximately 1:45 AM on August 23, officers discovered 199 kilograms of marijuana concealed within the tipper truck, registration number Na. 7 Kha 8173. The truck was reportedly traveling from Beteni towards Katari when it was stopped.

The arrested individual has been identified as 21-year-old Som Magar, a permanent resident of Devdaha Municipality-7, Rupandehi, who was residing in Katari Municipality-4. Police have initiated an investigation to trace the origin of the marijuana and identify its intended destination.

Further details regarding the network involved in the trafficking of the drugs are expected to emerge as the investigation progresses. The seizure represents a substantial bust for local law enforcement in their ongoing efforts to combat drug smuggling in the region.
