Veteran actor Jin Seon-kyu, 49, described his close bond with his much younger co-star Gong Myoung, 32, as being like "real siblings" with no barriers between them. The two actors, who have a 17-year age gap, star together in the new Netflix film 'The Childe'.

In the movie, Jin Seon-kyu plays Hwang Chung-sik, a veteran detective on the drug squad who is meticulous in his work but clumsy in other aspects of life. Gong Myoung portrays Lee Min-seok, a veterinarian who enjoys extreme sports but is somewhat of a scatterbrain. Their characters become unlikely allies when the wife they both share is kidnapped.

This marks the second collaboration between Jin Seon-kyu and Gong Myoung in a comedy film, following the massive success of 'Extreme Job' in 2019, which drew over 16 million viewers and ranks as the third highest-grossing Korean film of all time. Jin Seon-kyu admitted to feeling the pressure of following up such a hit, acknowledging that he was prepared for potential criticism that the new film might not measure up.
