Toluca government to follow up on reporter's complaint against City Council secretary; accuses him of sexual abuse

The Municipal Government of Toluca has announced it will seriously and sensitively investigate allegations of sexual abuse made by a reporter against the Secretary of the City Council. The alleged incident reportedly took place while the reporter was covering the "Chorizo Fest Futbolero 2026" event.

Mayor Ricardo Moreno Bastida has instructed relevant municipal departments to closely monitor the case. They are to provide support within their authority and cooperate with investigating bodies. The administration affirmed its commitment to acting legally, allowing the appropriate authorities to examine the facts and determine responsibilities.

As part of the response, the Director General of the Municipal Institute for Women of Toluca, Celfa Vázquez González, will contact the reporter. The institute will offer legal assistance and support with complete confidentiality, respect, and a gender perspective. This initiative aims to ensure the reporter receives appropriate aid throughout the process.
