Toluca Planetarium Offers Immersive Astronomy Adventures This Summer

Families looking for summer vacation activities can visit the Science Founders Park Planetarium in Toluca, Mexico. This venue aims to introduce both children and adults to the wonders of astronomy and science through engaging experiences.

The planetarium's main draw is its 4K digital dome, which provides an immersive 360° viewing experience. Visitors can enjoy themed projections such as "Odisea Tortuga," exploring the ocean with a green sea turtle; "Al Filo de la Oscuridad," a journey through space and historical missions; and "Arqueo-Astronomía Mexica," which connects astronomy with pre-Hispanic cultures.

Other shows include "Dos Pequeñas Piezas de Cristal," explaining how telescopes and observatories work, and "Zula la Gran Aventura Climática," delving into Earth's and interplanetary climate secrets. The planetarium can accommodate up to 168 people per showing, making it suitable for group visits.

Beyond the projections, the park features a dancing fountain, a mist fountain, a children's play area, an art gallery, a bookstore, and a space dedicated to regional crafts. The planetarium operates Tuesday through Sunday from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with showtimes at 11:00 AM, 1:00 PM, 3:00 PM, and 5:00 PM. General admission starts at $50 pesos, with discounted rates available for students, teachers, seniors, children, and individuals with disabilities. Special functions are priced from $60 pesos.
