Tottenham's Yang Min-hyuk Set for Fourth Loan Move to Belgian Club Westerlo

Yang Min-hyuk, a player who joined Tottenham Hotspur in January 2024, is reportedly heading to Belgian club Westerlo on loan for the upcoming season. This move marks his fourth loan assignment since his transfer from South Korea. According to The Athletic, Westerlo and Tottenham have agreed to a one-season loan deal for the 20-year-old midfielder. Yang has already traveled to Belgium to finalize the necessary procedures. The agreement is understood not to include an option for a permanent transfer. Yang enjoyed a successful debut season in South Korea, playing 38 matches for Gangwon FC and recording 12 goals and 6 assists, earning him the K League 1 Young Player Award. Following his impressive performance, he made the move to Tottenham. However, Yang has yet to make an official appearance for Tottenham's senior team. Since his arrival, he has been loaned out to English Championship clubs. He initially joined Queens Park Rangers (QPR), followed by spells at Portsmouth and Coventry City. During his time with QPR, Portsmouth, and Coventry, he played a total of 20 games across the EFL Championship, scoring three goals and providing one assist. His appearances in the latter half of the season with Coventry were limited to three league games and one FA Cup match. If the loan to Westerlo is confirmed, it would be Yang Min-hyuk's first experience playing in a top-tier European league. He is also part of the preliminary squad for the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games.
