Tourist bus hits and kills 71-year-old woman in Thessaloniki

A tragic traffic accident in Thessaloniki resulted in the death of a 71-year-old woman who was struck by a tourist bus. Despite the efforts of rescuers, she succumbed to her severe injuries.

The incident took place at the intersection of Konstantinou Karamanli and Perdika streets. Under circumstances that remain unclear, a tourist bus driven by a 61-year-old man hit the pedestrian as she attempted to cross the road.

Emergency medical services responded immediately. Three rescuers, an ambulance, and a rapid intervention motorcycle arrived at the scene. The pre-hospital care team provided specialized trauma management according to international protocols, working to stabilize the woman's vital functions before she was transported to the hospital.

The 71-year-old was taken to Hippocrates Hospital. However, despite extensive efforts by rescuers and medical staff, her injuries proved fatal. The Thessaloniki Traffic Police are investigating the causes and circumstances of the fatal accident.
