Trabzonspor marks 59th anniversary with march and tribute to club legacy

Trabzonspor celebrated its 59th anniversary with a series of events, including a march from the Ziyabey Facilities to the 15 Temmuz Şehitleri ve Hürriyet Park. Club President Ertuğrul Doğan, protocol members, and fans participated in the commemoration.

Speaking at the ceremony held in front of the Atatürk Monument, Doğan stated that the anniversary marks not just a founding date, but a city's resurgence, a major revolution in Anatolian football, and the proud 59-year struggle of the club's colors. He highlighted the team's dedication since taking office, emphasizing that they carry a great legacy and are working tirelessly to honor it. Doğan stressed that Trabzonspor's past serves as a compass, guiding their present efforts and future responsibilities towards younger generations.

Doğan further asserted that many goals once considered dreams have been realized, and pledged to continue with the same determination and courage. He assured supporters that they are working passionately to build a future that will make everyone proud, allowing fans worldwide to declare their allegiance to Trabzonspor with chests puffed out. He concluded by stating that the torch lit 59 years ago continues to burn in the hearts of millions, and their duty is to pass it on to future generations without letting it extinguish.

Trabzonspor's Board of Directors Chairman, Mahmut Ören, remarked that the club changed the course of Turkish football shortly after its founding. He added that Trabzonspor's greatness cannot be solely measured by its trophies, but also by its embodiment of the dreams of children playing in neighborhoods, the prayers of fishermen heading out at dawn, and the longing for home felt by every Trabzon resident wearing the club's scarf abroad. Ören defined the club's character as one that stands firm against injustice, believes in labor, trusts its own resources, and never gives up the fight.
