Traffic jams expected on Slovenian highways due to extensive roadworks

Slovenian drivers are bracing for another weekend of traffic congestion as extensive roadworks continue across the country's highway network.

Reports indicate an accident on the Štajerska highway between Dramlje and Slovenske Konjice, heading towards Maribor. This section is already experiencing narrowed lanes due to ongoing construction. Similarly, the Zadobrova–Domžale section also faces lane restrictions.

Further south, traffic jams are forming on the Primorska highway approaching Koper, particularly near Postojna. The situation is compounded by the closure of the northern section of the Ljubljana ring road between the Koseze interchange and the Celovška cesta exit. This closure is necessary for the replacement of aging overpasses on Gotska and Ledarska streets.

The Ljubljana municipality, in collaboration with Dars (Slovenian Motorway Company), is urging drivers to exercise patience and adhere to traffic signals during this period of extensive infrastructure work.
