Traffic speed to be limited on Vilnius's Savanorių Avenue due to construction

Vilnius, Lithuania – Drivers in Vilnius will face speed restrictions on a section of Savanorių Avenue as construction work on the surface sewage network necessitates additional repairs to an accidentally impacted gas pipeline. The speed limit will be reduced to 40 km/h along a roughly 200-meter stretch between buildings 180 and 187C on Savanorių Avenue.

During the ongoing surface sewage network construction, the gas pipeline was touched due to inaccurate data regarding its location. Fortunately, authorities confirmed there is no gas leak and consequently no danger to the public. However, the incident requires further repair work on the pipeline to allow the original construction to continue.

To manage traffic flow around the work zone, drivers will be permitted to use the first lane as a bypass. The restrictions are in place to ensure the safety of both the construction workers and the public while the necessary repairs are completed.
