Tragedy on the Nile: Father Drowns While Saving Son in Egypt

A father tragically lost his life in the Nile River in al-Qanater al-Khayriya, Qalyubia Governorate, Egypt, while attempting a heroic rescue of his son. The incident has sent shockwaves of grief through Qarnafil village, where the family resides.

The harrowing event unfolded when the young child entered the Nile. Upon hearing his son's cries for help, the father immediately plunged into the water to save him. Miraculously, the child managed to survive the ordeal by finding and holding onto a piece of foam that kept him afloat.

However, the father was less fortunate. Caught by the river's strong current, he was swept away and tragically drowned. Residents of the village described the deceased as a man of excellent character, emphasizing the profound shock his sudden death has inflicted upon his family, friends, and the wider community.

The village community gathered for the funeral prayer after the noon prayer at al-Shahid Mosque in Qarnafil. The deceased was subsequently laid to rest in the family tomb, marking a somber end to a life lost in an act of paternal bravery.
