Train Services Disrupted by Bahn Construction Between Munich and Buchloe

Deutsche Bahn (DB) is implementing significant construction measures on the rail line between Munich and Buchloe, leading to widespread disruptions for travelers. The ongoing work, which began in February with speed restrictions due to multiple slow zones, now requires further schedule adjustments.

From August 26 to September 5, passengers will experience altered timetables, with bus replacements serving the S-Bahn line S4, as well as regional and long-distance services to and from Buchloe. The construction includes the renewal of tracks in the Kaufering area and the replacement of three points in Fürstenfeldbruck. Additionally, two new rail overpasses in Geltendorf and Epfenhausen are nearing completion.

Specific impacts include bus substitutions for the S4 line between Puchheim and Buchenau, with additional bus services operating during the day between Buchenau, Fürstenfeldbruck, and Germering-Unterpfaffenhofen. For regional and long-distance travel, passengers between Munich Hauptbahnhof and Buchloe must use bus transfers. Some long-distance trains, like the ECE 88 line between Munich and Zurich, will only operate on the Lindau-Reutin to Zurich section, with bus replacements for the Munich to Lindau-Reutin segment.
