Train services disrupted in southern Denmark after person hit by train

Train services in southern Denmark have been significantly disrupted following an incident where a person was struck by a train near Brørup, located between Kolding and Esbjerg.

As of Monday evening, all train traffic between Kolding and Esbjerg has been halted. Danish State Railways (DSB) is in the process of arranging replacement bus services to connect the two cities. The railway operator has stated that train operations are not anticipated to resume on this route before 10 p.m. at the earliest, pending an official prognosis from the police and rescue services.

The incident's impact extends beyond the immediate Kolding-Esbjerg line. Trains that normally travel between Aarhus and Esbjerg, as well as those connecting Copenhagen and Esbjerg, are now terminating their services in Fredericia. Passengers on these routes are advised by DSB to use other available train services between Fredericia and Kolding. DSB also urges travelers to check journey planners for updated information and reminds them of the travel time guarantee, which applies to delays exceeding 30 minutes.
