Train Travel Surges: Daop 3 Cirebon Serves 2.1 Million Passengers in First Half of 2026

Train travel is increasingly popular in Indonesia, with PT KAI's Cirebon operational area (Daop 3) serving 2,138,947 passengers in the first half of 2026. This figure marks a 5.43% rise from the 2,028,698 passengers recorded in the first half of 2025.

Muhibbuddin, Public Relations Manager for Daop 3 Cirebon, stated that the high passenger numbers demonstrate public confidence in trains as a safe, comfortable, and punctual mode of transport. He added that trains effectively meet the diverse mobility needs of the public.

From the total customers, as many as 1,076,822 customers were departing customers and 1,062,125 customers were arriving customers at various stations in the Daop 3 Cirebon area.

Muhibbuddin noted that while routine travel for work, education, and business contributes to these numbers, the increase is also significantly influenced by high public mobility during national holidays. This includes periods like Lebaran, Christmas and New Year (Nataru), and school holidays, all of which occurred in the first semester.
