Transfer deadline: Enzo completes Manchester City move as Chelsea loan out Sanchez and Mudryk

Enzo Fernández has left Chelsea for Manchester City on a five-year contract, completing one of the headline moves of a hectic Premier League transfer deadline day.

The 25-year-old Argentina international will remain at the Etihad Stadium until summer 2031. Fernández, who won the 2022 World Cup and 2024 Copa America, said he wanted to keep collecting trophies with a club he described as built for success.

Chelsea also loaned goalkeeper Robert Sánchez to Serie A club Como for a season. Sánchez made 112 appearances after joining Chelsea from Brighton and Hove Albion in August 2023, and was part of the squads that won the UEFA Conference League and FIFA Club World Cup. Ukraine international Mykhailo Mudryk secured another season-long loan and will reunite with coach Roberto De Zerbi. Mudryk said he was eager to work with De Zerbi again and bring speed and creativity in attack and defense.
