Troops neutralise suspected female terrorist spy, nab 14 suspects nationwide

Nigerian troops have neutralized a suspected female spy for the ISWAP/JAS terrorist group in Borno state. The suspect was detected by CCTV cameras approaching a military position from the Sambisa axis. Troops at Forward Operating Base Kawuri in Konduga Local Government Area intercepted and neutralized her before she could reach the defensive perimeter.

In separate operations across the country, 14 suspected criminals were arrested. This included members of the IPOB/ESN group and cultists. A deserter soldier from the 13 Brigade was also apprehended at a checkpoint in Bwari Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory. The soldier was found with a military uniform and a vehicle.

Further operations led to the arrest of five suspected IPOB/ESN members in Imo state and eight suspected cultists in Enugu state. Preliminary investigations suggest a link between the Enugu suspects and terrorist activities in border communities between Enugu and Ebonyi states. All apprehended suspects have been handed over to the Nigeria Police Force for further investigation and prosecution. The report indicated no major incidents in other operational areas during the period.
