Trump Accuses Iran of Duplicity, Warns 'Total Surrender' Needed for Deal

U.S. President Donald Trump sharply criticized Iran's leadership as "duplicitous," accusing Tehran of seeking negotiations with Washington while publicly denying any direct talks. Trump stated on his Truth Social platform that "nothing will get through" to Iran unless a "deal, or total surrender, is accomplished."

Iranian Leadership is unbelievably duplicitous! They ask for a meeting, some would say "beg," talks begin, with more scheduled in the immediate future, and they say, openly and proudly, that they're not having any discussions, that nothing is being talked about, and they're only dealing with "Oman".

His remarks followed a statement from Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Esmail Baghaei, who asserted that Iran was not engaged in any direct or indirect negotiations with the U.S. Trump highlighted this contradiction, noting that Iran "ask for a meeting, some would say 'beg,' talks begin... and they say, openly and proudly, that they're not having any discussions."

Trump reaffirmed U.S. control over the Strait of Hormuz, a critical maritime chokepoint for global oil shipments.
