Trump demands compensation from Iran for conflict-related deaths and injuries

He specifically mentioned demands for compensation for those killed or severely wounded by Iranian roadside bombs and in numerous conflicts.

Trump referenced the 2000 bombing of the USS Cole and stated that compensation should also be paid to the families of "hundreds of thousands of innocent protesters" killed by Iran in the last 50 years. He indicated that he has instructed his representatives to firmly include this demand in any future negotiations.

According to Axios, Trump expressed no frustration in a recent interview about Iran delaying an agreement to open the Strait of Hormuz. Tehran has insisted that the U.S. first lift its blockade of Iranian ports and sanctions on its oil industry. The ongoing blockade by Iran has driven up fuel prices and shaken the global economy, increasing pressure on Trump ahead of the November midterm elections.
