Trump gave Netanyahu green light to burn West Bank: Former MP

A former Egyptian Member of Parliament has accused former U.S. President Donald Trump of effectively giving Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu the "green light" to escalate actions in the West Bank. Osama Sharshar stated that the timing of Netanyahu's visit to Washington was a reward from Trump, empowering him to "burn the West Bank."

Sharshar described Trump's promise as more dangerous than the historical Balfour Declaration, asserting that the U.S. president aims to remove Palestinian lands from the map. He warned that the perceived Zionist-American plan appears to be advancing rapidly.

The former MP also voiced criticism regarding the Arab League's response, specifically questioning the new Secretary-General Nabil Fahmy. Sharshar asked why the Arab League has not convened an emergency summit concerning Al-Aqsa Mosque and the West Bank. He also questioned why Arab and Islamic groups at the United Nations have not requested the UN Security Council to designate Israeli settler militias as terrorist organizations.

Sharshar drew parallels between the current situation in the West Bank and Jerusalem and the events in Gaza. He described a plan involving the extermination of people, alteration of village identities, seizure of land and homes, and the destruction of thousands of acres of olive groves.
