Trump Pauses Iran Attacks Amid Military Concerns Over Ammunition

President Donald Trump has halted military aggressions against Iran, reportedly due to concerns raised by the U.S. military and Vice President J.D. Vance regarding the potential depletion of ammunition supplies. This pause comes after a period of intensified conflict between the two nations.

Sources indicate that Trump suspended bombings over the weekend after receiving warnings from the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Dan Caine. Caine reportedly cautioned that escalating the conflict with Iran could leave the U.S. military critically low on defensive assets, such as missile interceptors. Similar concerns were shared by Vice President J.D. Vance during a White House cabinet meeting last Friday, according to CNN.

This decision to pause attacks reportedly occurred as Trump was considering a "massive attack" on Iran, while simultaneously suggesting that U.S. officials were engaged in negotiations with Iranian representatives. An Axios report from Saturday noted that the president had ordered U.S. forces to refrain from new attacks, following nearly two weeks of daily aggressions, in order to "give more space to diplomacy."

Despite these reports, U.S. Ambassador to the UN Mike Waltz asserted on Sunday that "the president has all options on the table." Addressing questions about alleged rationing of defense weapons and equipment at the Pentagon, Waltz stated, "The U.S. Army, and I have verified this by all possible means, has everything necessary to execute this campaign with the necessary effectiveness. And I just have to tell you that the people who are leaking this nonsense deserve to be in jail."
