In a post on his social media platform, Truth Social, Trump threatened to withdraw his support for the senators and instead push forcefully for a controversial bill aimed at compensating alleged victims of "instrumentalization" of the judicial system if they do not comply.

The dispute centers on Blanche's nomination, which faced opposition from Cornyn and Tillis in a Senate committee hearing. Both senators have requested more information from the Justice Department regarding a prior agreement between Blanche and Trump. This agreement involved creating a reparation fund for individuals pardoned by Trump following the January 6 Capitol assault. Trump defended the proposed $1.776 billion fund, calling it a protection for those "so badly mistreated by the dishonest Joe Biden and Barack Obama administration."

If Senators Cornyn and Tillis, both upset that I didn't give them my endorsement, are not going to approve the nomination of Todd Blanche as Attorney General of the United States, then I will keep him as acting attorney general and I will push hard for the bill against instrumentalization to be approved.

Trump asserted that Todd Blanche "was the voice of reason" and vowed that the fund "will be back on the table immediately, and I will make sure it gets approved." Blanche, who served as Trump's personal lawyer before joining his administration, requires the backing of all Republican members of the Judiciary Committee for his nomination to proceed to a full Senate vote. Democrats have already signaled their opposition.

Blanche assumed the role of acting Attorney General in April, following the dismissal of Pam Bondi. His tenure has been marked by criticism from some conservative sectors regarding the handling of the investigation into the Jeffrey Epstein case.
