Trump's Ankara Itinerary Includes Anıtkabir Visit and Meeting with Erdoğan

U.S. President Donald Trump is set to visit Ankara on July 7-8 to attend the NATO Summit, with his itinerary including a visit to the mausoleum of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, Anıtkabir, followed by a meeting with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan at the presidential palace. This visit underscores the ongoing strategic dialogue between the two nations amidst evolving geopolitical landscapes.

Preparations for the NATO Summit are underway in Ankara, with Trump's arrival planned for July 7. A contingent of approximately 1,000 U.S. personnel is expected to arrive in advance to finalize security and logistical arrangements. The routes Trump's motorcade will use, along with security corridors, have been meticulously planned to ensure safety and efficiency during his visit.

Following his visit to Anıtkabir, Trump will be formally welcomed by President Erdoğan at the presidential palace, with equestrian guards accompanying his convoy. The leaders are expected to hold both one-on-one and delegation-level talks. Key agenda items are anticipated to include Turkey's potential return to the F-35 fighter jet program, the supply of engines for the KAAN fighter jet, and discussions on the current situations in Syria and Gaza.

Additionally, a Defense Industry Forum will be held at the ATO Congresium as part of the NATO Summit. This forum will feature opening remarks from Turkish Minister of National Defense Yaşar Güler and NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, and is expected to draw participation from defense industry companies like Saab, Airbus, and Northrop Grumman, alongside Turkish firms, to explore cooperation possibilities and memorandums of understanding in the defense sector.
