Trump used decoy plane from Turkey amid Iran threat: reports

U.S. President Donald Trump's return trip from Turkey following a NATO summit was reportedly shrouded in secrecy due to a credible threat from Iran, involving a decoy aircraft to obscure his movements.

According to high-ranking White House officials cited by The New York Times and The Washington Post, U.S. authorities devised a covert strategy to discreetly extract Trump from Turkey. This plan was initiated after intelligence services identified a specific threat from Iran targeting the presidential aircraft, Air Force One.

To counter the threat, Trump was allegedly transported in a service cart to a waiting military plane. Simultaneously, another presidential aircraft departed Turkey as a decoy, aiming to make it difficult for potential attackers to identify the plane carrying the president. This maneuver was part of a broader security operation to conceal the president's movements and reduce the risk of him being located during the journey.

During the period of these events, Trump had downplayed concerns about a threat, suggesting the change in aircraft was to allow U.S. military personnel to see the new Air Force One. When questioned about a credible threat, he stated, "I have a threat all the time. I am number one on their list."
