While the latest police barometer indicates a high level of confidence, with 92% of Finns reporting trusting the police either 'quite' or 'very much,' interviews conducted by Helsingin Sanomat suggest a growing unease. One individual, Minja Pietiläinen, stated that she actively avoids interacting with the police if possible, indicating a personal erosion of confidence. In contrast, another person, Emmi Hautaniemi, shared a positive experience, noting that the authorities had protected her from domestic violence. This highlights the varied and sometimes contradictory public perceptions of the police force.
